Protagonist – A lead role in a play, movie or book
inability to control his emotions – Someone is not able to control how he shows how he feels.
Acts rashly – Makes decisions and actions without fully thinking them through the consequences
impulsive – acting without thinking
“I fear too early, for my mind misgives; some consequence, yet hanging in the stars, shall bitterly begin.”
“O I am fortune’s fool!”
“Then I defy you stars.”
One moment in the play when Romeo acts impulsively is when he kills Tybalt in revenge of Mercutio. The result of this action is Romeo being banished and it is clear in the play that he did not think this through.
“…Either thou or I or both must go with him.”
Another example is when Romeo drinks the poison at Juliet’s side to be with her even though she does not look or feel dead. Also without consulting Friar Lawrence.
“Thy drugs are quick. thus with a kiss I die.”
